This young Norwich-based six piece are striving boldly for a ragged glory with their highly impressive second album following on from their much admired debut ‘Resevoir’.
The sound is deliberately muddy and layered; dense but accessible
The enigmatic lyrics touch upon moments of boredom or emptiness but borrow freely from fever dreams pointing towards a more hopeful future.
”I’m leaning hard toward the dream sequences” is a line from the title track and the visions contain more ocean vistas and wild prairies than the parochial charms of their Norfolk origins. As they are keen to remind us on Far Off Places, ”there’s wild music in wide open spaces"
Being as much in the spirit of classic rock as Alt.Country and with shades of The Band or Big Thief you could call it East Anglian Americana.
All in all a cool ride with a band that are clearly going places.
