Review: 'Powerplant'
'Crashing Cars'

-  Label: 'Arcane Dynamics'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '2.5.25.'-  Catalogue No: 'ADX-3'

Our Rating:
Crashing Cars is the latest 7" single by the London based 4-piece Powerplant who are Ukrainian emigre Theo Zhykharyev alongside Karim Newble, Lloyd Clipston and Cajm, they have played over 160 show in the last three years promoting the bands debut album People In The Sun.

Crashing Cars careens out of the speakers like you're taking a hairpin bend at 80 mph without a care in the world, rather than cruising down Burdett Road and the Limehouse Link like in the video. Then everything goes wrong and your crushed in your seat hearing that bassline like the last ebbing notes of your heartbeat, you wait to be cut out of your seat, the synths rise like you have hope of getting back to normality and walking away in one piece. Will you or won't you, well listen to this song and figure it out.

Never Smile has a darker edge to the vocals and the way the synths interact with the guitars, ending up like a more dance oriented 69 Eyes, your left wondering if you can ever make the object of your desire smile again, or if everything has turned to grimaces and scowls on a permanent basis in this most diseased of worlds.
