Our Rating:
Don't Worry It's Forever is the fourth album by Glasgow based four-piece Sister John, who for this album have decided to only release the album in physical formats, so it is not on any streaming services, but does come with a download code. The band are Amanda McKeown, Jonathan Lilley, Sophie Pragnell and Heather Phillips.

The album opens with the ethereal intro to Another Trip Around a very gentle carefully sung folk song, imbued with sorrow for someone who is no longer around, sparsely arranged with echoes of Mary Hopkins with added magical harmonies for those you left behind.

Slipping Through is full of wistful memories over barely their guitar and keyboard backing, the sadness for everything that has gone will tug at your heart strings.

Me And Nevine is a windswept love affair that builds with shimmering organ and guitar for the tale of what happened between Nevine and you.

You're A Big Girl Now is almost a love letter from a mother to a daughter, encouraging her to survive whatever life throws your way, if Mum can survive a war, you can survive a breakup or two, the music swells with a mother's pride for what their daughter is becoming.

I'm Not What I Used To Be over hushed backing it's time to re-build yourself, find a way to get over all the trauma, while trying to get along with who you've become.

Alex is so hushed that the reflections of the things you'll never forget will be like a ghost coming back to haunt you.

Murmurations seems to be a popular song title this year, these ones are gentle piano led thoughts and reflections, asking if your ok and if you need a cuppa and some sympathy.

It's Forever has a choir of angels backing this solemn yet hopefully wistful and rather brief song. Photograph is snapped over slowly strummed acoustic guitar, evoking all the memories captured in that magical photograph.

Tomorrow is a violin led lament for the sad memories evoked by looking at your favourite chair now you're no longer here. Will it be better tomorrow or will the memories still be just as painful.

Holding On not quite for dear life, this has a late-night feel, guitar notes are bent carefully, wringing every drop of pain from you, in your hour of despair, if you can just keep Holding On to those memories before they fade away, you'll be okay.

Grief is whispered over a gentle church organ backing the sadness feels overwhelming, you've departed and how will I live without you.
Funeral is elegiac memories of going to the last goodbye, shedding diamonds full of sorrow, reportage of a day to never forget, one last memory of you and a promise that she won't tell you about horses.

Join The Crowds find a way to get back to life after all the sorrow of your parting, they want to ride to the docks to Join The Crowds over the slow evocative backing.

The album closes with Just Do It Anyway a slow hushed reverential plea, for anyone who has survived the passing of a dear loved one, to make sure to carry on and live your life, taking the ghosts of your past into the future with you.
