Our Rating:
Evidence Of A Struggle are back with the band second album Eddy Derecho The band is still run by the Rev Billy Simmons and the boys in his Chicago vestry are Matt Walker, Alan Berliant and Solomon Walker who recorded at The Glue Factory, Ming Music Studios and Hybercube it was produced by Sanford Parker.

The album opens with the title song Eddy Derecho that has heavy guitars and reverb heavy vocals explaining why we should care about what happened to Eddy Derecho and how society is to blame.

The Whale has semi buried vocals, with guitars raging around them, what ever happens they aren't going to leave you. Whispering desperate messages into your head, drill beats gnaw their way in.

Le Caution is a warning for the modern malaise overwhelming everything, reality is a long-forgotten mirage, cacophony buzzing away, not even an acid rain tempest would be able to wash away the despair.

Alma ancient battleground or mad aunt, slowly hove's into view, bleepy synths meditating, before guitars explode a mythic epic unfolds.

Coulda buzzing doomed guitar, descends the depth of dystopian nightmare visions, that couldn't be stranger than reality. Rage away the pain.

Orchan has a late-night grunge feel, pain of all those million points of light cutting into your brain, drums becoming more massive and intense, so does pain exorcised in the lyrics.

Charity sadly isn't a Skunk Anansie cover, more a meandering proggy epic, before the good Rev takes us to Church for some spectral guitars and towering heavy bass to accompany your supplications and ministrations. He rails against anyone who can't listen and hear the message clearly, stop being selfish, make the world less hateful.

Bastion is taking you within its grip, their can be no escape from the grips of the Bastion, you will submit or be steamrollered by slow funereal doom rock symphonics.

Aethyrs weaved mythical battles into modern despair, deep dark ruminating reverberating stars fading to black, like the freedoms and rights being taken away, feelings of disenfranchisement from the programmed immiseration.

Give Us A Kiss go on just one, we maybe morose moaning dark lords, but even we could do with a little kiss, its so much nicer than fighting and killing don't you think, so go on and give Evidence Of A Struggle a Kiss.

Earthburner is aimed at industrial strength polluters and despoilers of our planet, by fossil fuels and war storming across and industrial rock club raging away.

We Want War is the slow march to the apocalypse for all who are dumb enough to hear the call to war. How to sate the desire to own and control the entire world and universe, the ultimate ruler and the ultimate nation, can the beast ever be fulfilled are there enough tacos on earth for that job. The album ends in a shower of guitars full of the despair of the few moderates that remain.
