The Backroom sessions were recorded live in Rockaway Noo Joisey by Ecce Shnak the prog experimental quintet of David Roush, Bella Komodromos, Chris Krasnow, Gannon Ferrell and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn. The Ep was mixed by Chris Krasnow.
This live ep opens with Fight Song that has a playground feel to the way they shout Fight Fight Fight over the distressed guitars and pummel your mind drumming, howling sirens like someone called the cops, no idea what the reasons for this dust up are, but you'd better win it, on this update of the song they first recorded in 2012.
Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy is just as bonkers as the single version, but live the guitars seem a bit more focussed, even as everything else is frayed at the edges of oblivion craziness. The breakdown adds almost operatic vocals to the oddness.
Craigs List Jawn !Nay!/!Yay! is prog indie madness that's quite beyond me, this is totally immersive and subversive, going in several directions, never quite reaching any destination, it might make more sense if I spent any time at all on Craigs list searching for whatever it is you search in Craigs list for, either way they will spend all day in the kitchen splintering their minds and ours.
The Ep closes with Prayer On Love that opens like it will be a doom metal opus, with off keyboards and a deeply lugubrious bassline, it's time to say a Prayer For Love in the hope it will triumph over hatred and violence, with the vocals dovetailing through the oddly out of sync music.
