Isolated Dew is the new EP by J. Edmond who was originally known as Jebb, this Ep was recorded with a top-notch line-up of session musicians, including Paul Chastain from the immensely great Velvet Crush, Fernando Perdomo, A. Michael Collins, Tommy Hayes, Stephen Peter Rogers and Danny Henry. The EP was recorded and produced by A. Michael Collins at Gotebo studios.
The ep opens with Some Way a slow and a little bit sparse, yet rather emotional song, for finding a way through the malaise that is modern living, trying to survive and thrive no matter what's been thrown at you, with cool backing vocals helping to find that way through, the break down adds some echo to the vocals, any new element to help you on to the next new dawn.
Search Lights is almost drive-time college rock, for anyone just holding on trying to make it through, avoiding the Search Lights that might be trying to stop you in your tracks. The sax solo is good and squiggly, adding a soulful edge to the song.
City Walk is a stumble around town, the odd fall along the way, feeling the pain of trying to survive in a big city against the odds, the yearning and pain as life collapses around you, the world or at least California is on fire, you feel lost with the pain only being slightly soothed by the slide guitar.
The Ep closes with M. Passerbye that has strummed acoustic guitars in praise of that man they see going by, rushing off to the day job each and every day, do they feel like they are missing out, or are they really happy in the 9 to 5 existence, or would you prefer to be playing with acoustics and sparkling passages, anything but the daily drudgery.
