Roi De L'Herbe is the latest 5 songs in 12 minutes EP from Manchester Punk Pop trio Aerial Salad, who are like just about everyone I know angry with the modern world and where it's headed. The French title of the EP is in praise, of the bands healthy French fan base and of Bassist Wimbo's job as Rochdale's finest gardener. The band are Jamie Munro, Mike 'Wimbo' Wimbleton and Jake Marshall.
The ep opens with King Of The Grass in praise of bass Maestro's Wimbo's day job as a Gardener in Rochdale, this has an urgency to the action, like he's revved up his flymo and if you try to ask any stupid questions he'll run your feet over, as soon as look at you. He has no problems telling you to get off the Grass, especially if he's cut it perfectly, he wants to be able to go home by 3.30 so he can watch some daytime TV, I guess he's a fan of The Chase and Homes Under The Hammer.
