Our Rating:
Charlie Nieland is back with four more songs inspired by being part of the Bushwick Book Club. The ep was recorded at Saturation Point Studios Brooklyn and KGB Bar NYC with help from Billy Loose and Dan McAssy.

The EP opens with the distended feedbacking guitar intro to Drown, spoken word vocals explaining all the ways in which he is drowning, in choppy waters of modernity, the burning sands need cleaning from all the toxins, amid chaos and distress guitars sear through, rushing towards miasma of a storm battered coast.

Redshift feels like Charlie is whispering the vocals in your ear, world collapses around him, no matter how chilled and laid back, Charlie hints at far more darkness, trying to get you to flower and reach your potential.

Shame has a slow stop start blank verse, for a world disappearing before Charlie's eyes, all the old certainties have evaporated, replaced at shame for allowing things to go this far, how to get past the collective blame, all the Shame heaped onto the wrong targets. Guitars start to rage against the vocals, how can you contain the bile you feel, for all the incel's in power, in need of a psychotic break musical freak out.

Elegy is slow picked strings for a slow elegy, for civil pre AI society, the magical days before smart phones took over, invading our lives, atmospheric tonal shifts, buzzing thorns through matrilineal spirits for the lines of time being crossed.
