Review: 'The 1981'
'Soft Goodbye/Count On Me'

-  Label: 'Dandy Boy Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '29.8.25.'-  Catalogue No: 'DBR-045'

Our Rating:
Soft Goodbye is the latest single by The 1981 the Oakland based Power-pop garage band. The 1981 are Adam Widener, Bobby Martinez, Colin McDonald, Alex Halatsis and Paul Igaz who recorded the single with Jack Erin Brown and Rob Good behind the desk at Santo and Sounds Good studios respectively.

The A-side Soft Goodbye is a spry Powerpop garage song for staying friends while no longer having the benefits you once cherished, they re-arrange very familiar riffs, into something catchy and new in ways that still sound like it should have come out in 1992 or so.

The B-sideCount On Me has a great buzzing sound, super warm amps for this hazy kiss off, in the vein of Wild Crash 500 or any number of bands signed to Hut records in the 90's, the organ part emphasizes all the ways they are happy to lie to you.
