Allez-Teia (Heldon II) is being re-issued for its 50th anniversary, it very much wears its heart and influences on its sleeve, with many of the tracks being named after the band's major influences, such as Robert Fripp and Dieter Moebius. Heldon were for this album Richard Pinhas and Georges Grunblatt.
The album opens with In The Wake Of King Fripp a title that should give every hint as to where this elegiac synth and strings piece is coming from, in tribute to the prog godhead Robert Fripp and his then work with King Crimson, some of the musical undertow on this tune is where it's most interesting to me.
Aphanisis has two acoustic guitars being strummed and played in interesting ways, it gets rather florid and expansive like they are trying to make an experimental Gabor Szabo style piece.
Omar Diop Blondin is in tribute to the anti-imperialist philosopher, who had died in a Senegalese prison in mysterious, still unsolved, circumstances in 1973, which makes the distended troubled synths, going over the gentle guitar figures seem all too pertinent a tribute, to the pain and sorrow of his early death, the repeating motif was later re-worked by Sonic Boom for one of Spectrums tunes, making this sound very familiar to me.
Moebius sounds like it is built on a series of loops or Moebius strips that could be inserted into other tunes elsewhere.
Fluence (ContinuumMobile/Disjonction Inclusive) takes a long tonal synth and buzzing noises for the first part, before we get a buzzed tone slowly shifting and shaping its way around our minds, it slowly metastasizes with the synths sounding like violin glissandos that eventually build towards some sort of peak of togetherness.
St Mikael Samstag Abends has feelings of dread and foreboding poking through the long oscillating tonalities buzzing across the speakers, the guitars are fluid seemingly turning summersaults through the vortex of the synth washes.
Michel Ettori has the feeling of a guitar duel between the two acoustic players evoking Michel Ettori's spirit through the playing, this is relaxed and laidback.
