Our Rating:
The Wild One of The Wood is the second album by Howlin' Grassman V Stompin' Bigfoot the French duo from Plougastel-Daoulas near Brest. The duo have special guest Florent Manneveau on saxophone.

The album opens with Grassman Is Howlin' no they haven't ripped off there weed dealer, this is sort of like a Boo Ya Tribe rap rock tale of distress and the monsters that haunt there every waking hour.

Everything Is Fine has a loose dirty riff for them to preach over, like they have updated the Blues explosion sound, while they try to convince us all that there is nothing to see and Everything Is Fine despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Would You Bring Me Flowers despite all the crap I have done to you, well would you, go on make a decision while the greasy nasty guitar grinds away, diseased drums crack out a beat, helping to catch their distain.

Fuck It's Monday is the bands Suicide style motorik anthem to the dread that you've got to go back to work, at your mind-numbing job again. Don't Blame me no it wasn't me, this flies by full of bile and spite for all the frustrations they have with those that push them around.

January Sucks and they have the winter disconsolate blues again, they are sick of the dark despair with anvil hit percussion and some squiggly sax in the background hoping to get them through the bleak winter days.

Love Keeps Me Alive while you sound like You Will Know Me By The Trail Of Dead this has a dark Clutch style blues insanity to it, sounding like it would go insane live. Doctor Lucas thinks he has what you need to get through all this, dark insistent jangling guitars help to accentuate the pain in the vocals trying to make sure they don't need those mood-altering drugs to keep them in line.

The album closes with Obsessed With Fear the duo's tribute to Lee Ving and the boys or to the state of Fear we are all living in during the 2020's, this speedy hardcore punk tune should have audiences bouncing off the walls.
