Right pay attention at the back. It’s pronounced AMBULANCE EL TEA DEE, not Limited. All got that? Right, we’ll move on.
This is genuinely a lovely piece of music that raises eyebrows by virtue of the fact that its practitioners are from Noo Yawk and not somewhere closer to home. Trading in a dreamy acoustic pop/rock that harks back to the likes of Prefab Sprout, The Go-Betweens and even the vastly underrated China Crisis it has a melt in the mouth melancholic loveliness that makes you nostalgic for future summers. There’s a hint of something brooding in the background that stops the overall effect being too soporific but even so this can’t fail to warm you like a gentle mistral.

A touch of déjà vu for W&H as this track was positively reviewed some 18 months ago as part of their eponymous 5-track EP. By all accounts there’s much more to their sound than this slice of classy pop acoustica. Currently on a UK tour with those other North American anglophiles The Dears it’s to be hoped that music this captivatingly good is going to find a wider audience this time around.
