Review: 'Vlimmer'
'Aufbeisser/Young Folks'

-  Label: 'Black Jack Illuminist Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '6.2.26.'

Our Rating:
Aufbeisser is the latest single by ever busy Berlin based polymath Alexander Donat and his main musical identity Vlimmer, like most of his recent singles the B-side is a German language cover of an English song in this case Peter, Bjorn and John's indie classic Young Folks.

Aufbeisser is a synthpop dark song about orthodontic bite devices apparently, if google translate can be trusted, this is slow thoughtful, like you're trying to choose which teeth need the attention of the Aufbeisser, so get ready to bite down on this tasty morsel of Kraut electropop.

The B-side Young Folks slows down the original to a crawl, with carefully enunciated vocals and shifting atmospherics, that might leave you wondering what those Young Folks are getting up to in the dark world this music evokes, including some Scorpions adjacent whistling, that could send shivers up Roger Whittaker's spine.
