Any song that can be sang to football chants is genius, pure and simple. That it’s a perfectly compiled pop ditty that bears all the hallmarks of the Libertines or Blondie at their finest is a welcome bonus.
‘Hooligans on E’ (co-written by everybody’s favourite crack rat Pete Doherty) is a song delivered by the husky vocals of Lisa Moorish. it’s lyrically quirky and cute, even managing to name drop Burberry and Aquascutum along the way.
Don’t be put off though, imagine disco balls, bottle blond bobs nodding in unison and a mob of drunken, Libertineless indie kids at the back. Sing it with me! ’We’re so it it’s unbelievable’.
