Erik Stucky is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has previously released a couple of albums and his latest offering is a five-track EP.
The lyrics to the title track are a warning to remain vigilant about how quickly time passes: “As yesterday gets older, if you ain’t moving forward, look out!” .
The quest for liberty and the impermanence of loving relationships are the themes threading through the other four tunes.
Night Train tells the story of a woman who finally escapes from the town that seemed to hold her captive. Jealous of the Wind envies the freedom of the wind as opposed to the monotony of everyday life. It features a discreet orchestral arrangement and some nice mandolin playing.

Because You’re Right is about what happens when two lovers drift apart with the realisation that agreeing to differ is the surest way to preserve a measure of sanity. Crying Side of You documents the feeling of when good love goes bad but does so in a fairly jaunty manner.
There’s a mellow glow to these acoustic songs that sound personal and heartfelt without being unduly tortured.
