For this ep of Remixes by Magic Wands I have remixed my earlier reviews of these songs by the Los Angeles based Magic Wands who originally formed back in Nashville. They are Dexy and Chris Valentine and they have invited Lost Signal, Delerium, Lars Deustch, Principe Valiente and Glass Capel to remix these songs often into more chilled out versions.
The Ep opens with Armour (Lost Signals remix) it's quite wispy and gauzy, that has had more of a dancefloor slow beat added to it, to help you consider the Armour protection they are seeking to keep them and us save in this modern world.
Albatross (Lars Deutch Remix) has cello's hinting at a Play Dead style mood, slow breeze tree branch movements, trying to find a new beginning, words are barely whispered amongst the strings finding forgiveness, searching for that Albatross finding a path through a darkened forest.
Sacred Mirrors (Lost Signal Remix) featuring John Ashton, most of whose guitars have been stripped out from the original, so swirling ephemeral synths and glitchy bells search for happiness, while gazing in a Sacred Mirror, dreaming of finding the divine within, while gazing at the brightest stars.
Moonshadow (Delerium Remix) turns this Astral Flight or Full Tilt style club floor filler into a far slower, more ruminative tune, perfect to lean back and gaze at the ceiling in the chill-out room too, rather than dancing to what was a dark evocative goth floor filler, I far prefer the original mix.

Candle Sea (Principe Valiente Mix) opens with the sounds of the seashore, with the sea gently swelling onto the beach, we sit mesmerized by the movements of the water, dancing behind the candles they have lit and are hoping don't get blown out. Shifting synths wash over them while they dream away the sadness they feel within.
The Ep closes with Time To Dream (Glass Chapel Remix) finally takes them back to the dancefloor with the all-encompassing sounds, distorting memories shapeshifting now more X-Mal than Arson Garden, this totally draws you in, making clear it is indeed Time To Dream with the Magic Wands.
