Can't Keep Wanting You is the debut album by Nashville based Indie rocker James Bruner, the album was produced in Nashville by Shane Weisman.
The album opens with Show Me The Way he wants to know how to get to that place where all the love is, where guitars mesh perfectly against a sharp beat and he doesn't get to throw it all away, somehow the right solution appears in a similar vein to Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires, being catchy and gritty in equal measure.
The title track Can't Keep Wanting you is a signal he's moving on, and taking that immense riff and catchy chorus with him, he won't let you mess with his hair no more, keep your hands to yourself and the band will buck like broncos and nail another crazy horse style guitar solo before the keyboard breakdown.
Hypnotized is what you'll be once James gets his eyes locked on yours, and his growling vocals start to tell you to shake it on down with him, whatever you do don't mess with him, or he will leave you paralysed, this gets good and greasy almost like a male Bellrays.
Shine has falsetto vocal intro to the pleading for your love, while he gets worried you are shining for someone other than him. He gets quite woebegone at the thought that you might pass him by, well I'm sure he will find someone else to love.
Don't Wanna Be Late is an anthem for his need for punctuality, so he certainly doesn't want to be like Axl Rose thankfully, he doesn't care about anything other than things happening on time, and the guitar solos come in right on time to get a groove on too.
SMS no he wants more from you than a text message or another dick pic, go on at least phone him up, but best yet if you love him and want to save his soul you'd better meet up in real life, old school for an actual physical date, where you can spark off each other and feel mighty real, he lets go that bestial wail that makes you go all gooey.
It's Too Late he's gone to the dark side and made a modern pop song with high falsetto vocals, like he wants to be the new Gnarls Barkly, but with wailing guitars and a neo gospel choral backing on the chorus, this has full on widescreen, practically Imax production.
Wish I Could Stay is a slow blues in the Steven Tyler type vein, time to wave your scarves around, to that slow bass beat. OMG it's time to beg and plead for all the loving you want, she's perfect and he's about to make you his, on this libidinous anthem, that he hopes makes a room full of women scream at him full of lust.
Only You is after the deed has been done and because it was just a lust filled encounter she's getting up to leave, so he's begging and pleading that you don't leave him alone, at least stay till daybreak and do the walk of shame properly.
Getaway yep she not only stayed, but stayed long enough that now he needs to Getaway from her, on this barrelling out the door, hitting the road rocking blues, he needs more adventures at 3 in the morning, a little bit of this and that, he's going on his run looking for whatever will be.
The album closes with Take It Or Leave It the last begging plea of the night, go on you can Take It Or Leave his love, His company and hanging at his party, he'll be leaving town with his band anyway, take that brief excursion or don't. This is a cock-rock anthem for the 2020's.
