Odd bunch, Morcheeba. Their latest album sounds like a cross between the rhythms and strings of the Bunnymen, the tunes of Burt Bacharach and the prog rock guitars of, well, to be honest, Steven Malkmus.
"Lighten Up" has a decent tune and an unremarkable arrangement. I can't tell if its trying to cure me of my depression or push me off the bridge so everyone else can get on with the party. The chorus is catchy, but don't you just hate it when some smug bastard says "cheer up mate"...
