On their single ‘This Is The Part’ Jonah Matranga – lead singer with GRATITUDE – sings the line “This is the part where we start to feel better”.
Given that ‘This Is The Part’ a) is emo, b) is unoriginal, and c) uses the term “mother-fucker” in such a pathetically weak American teen dirt-bag kind of way, can you guess at which part of the record I started to feel better?
Clue: ‘This Is The Part’ is 2’55” long and at around the 2’56” mark a smile appeared on my face.
The other track ‘If Ever (Acoustic)’ - you mean there’s a version that’s not acoustic? Joy unbound! – is so awful in its overwrought vocal performance that it amounts to nothing more that a sub-standard Bon Jovi ballad (Hey! Bon Jovi have standards, OK?) written for Funeral For A Friend fans with an unshakeable sentimental attachment to their parents’ poodle-permed rock collection from the 80’s.
If I called this drivel I’d be giving spittle a bad name.
