‘If We’re So Happy’ is exactly what you’d expect from a collaboration between Beautiful South’s Dave Rotheray and Jools Holland’s band’s singer Sam Brown.
A pithy sounding, middle-of-the-road tune, with Brown’s breathy
vocals barely distinguishing itself from the plodding guitar line- sounding precisely like an acoustic Beautiful South song. B sides, ‘Whistlestop Blues’ and ‘Lonely Together’ are similarly inane, gentle ditties which can be easily tuned out and instantly forgotten.
