Review: 'SHE WANTS REVENGE'
'SHE WANTS REVENGE'

-  Label: 'GEFFEN'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'July 2006'

Our Rating:
There are momentary passages on this album when She Wants Revenge manage to make songs sound like their own, instead of a poor mans Interpol, or Editors or Spandau Ballet, etc.

These few lapses of originality help to demonstrate that if only the group could tear themselves away from the thought of being a second rate tribute band, there is potential for the band to produce some absolutely amazing songs, as seen in tracks such as ‘I Don’t Want To Fall In Love’ and ‘Disconnect’.

Unfortunately though, the album tends to be dominated by drum-machines, repetitive, twanging bass lines and the dull monotone, half spoken half sung vocals that bands like Joy Division have specialised in so well over the years and that She Wants Revenge can only try to imitate, however much homework they put in.
