Review: 'TIDWELL, COURTNEY'
'DON'T LET STARS KEEP US TANGLED UP'

-  Label: 'EVER RECORDS'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: 'August 2006'

Our Rating:
Imagine that you’re in a chick flick. Your boyfriend’s just dumped you and you’re mournfully staring out of the window. It’s raining, naturally, and the music in the background as you sob into the blue fluffy cushion is Ms. Tidwell.

Cut back to the beginning of the film, and you’re at school
laughing and joking with your mates, the background music is again another Tidwell classic. In fact, at any point in the film the music in the background could well be Tidwell’s, as on ‘Don’t Let Stars Keep Us Tangled Up’ there is a song for every mood and every occasion.

From the loud and noisy (but not too noisy) ‘Missing Link’ to the dreamy, shimmering sounds of opening track ‘Eyes At The Billions’ it is an album that you can’t help but warm to as each mood, feeling and genre of music is deftly explored by Tidwell as she manages to make each track sound more fresh and original than the last.
