Review: 'VOOM BLOOMS, THE'
'ANNA/ THE MODELS OF SOHO'

-  Label: '23RD RECORDINGS'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'August 2006'

Our Rating:
Having already penned their first anthem in the fantastic ‘Politics and Cigarettes’ The Voom Blooms return decidedly more upbeat with some positive offerings.

Fresh from an NME tour and a brief sojourn in Paris they bandy out ‘Anna’ with reckless abandon and an ever growing self confidence that echoing the seamless sing along of ‘Thoughts of Rena’. ‘Models of Soho’ sees them stumble bleary eyed and cockney tongued into the familiar territory of The Clash and The Specials complete with eerily skanking rhythms and Guildford’s adopted Laaandan twang; that’s four songs for the album then.
