Our Rating:
At thirty seven minutes long, this is one hell of a blast from the reworked past! The punishing euphoria and grinding motorbike engine bass delivered suddenly only two tracks in as this acid-charged helping of dance-floor insainity begins to find its way, gets my widest smile, and one that emits more than enough joy to fill in all the the gaps as an instinctive, almost instantaneous response!

Those with an aversion to techno, you may well become converted fast – those who are experiencing an increasing apathy towards the modern music scene will be blown away by this pulsating and hypnotic generator of twisted disco groove energy!

A surging onslaught of breakbeat, techno and housey vocal hooks combine in bite size three minute chunks as this Flemish-speaking quartet proceed to rip it up in fine style from start to finish. From the looping build up of current single release ‘Black Gloves’ to the grinding breakbeat-distorted heavy rock sounds of show-closing finale ‘Audience’, this is a blistering and addictive journey backwards through a hedge that is part disco part smokescreen - uncompromising and relentless: as exciting as a scary new rollercoaster, but above all firmly dedicated to popular appeal.

Real-time percussion plays a part in the New Wave binary retro of ‘Girl’ as it slides easily into the familiar rhythm of domestic conflict, with tranced-out ambience easing the pressure here and there. Sonic assaults come in waves and as the frequencies thicken and distort ever more wildly, GOOSE bring this industrial cacophony into its own with a natural born feel for acid destruction.

The melting pulse of ‘Check’ is the shortest, sharpest shock of the lot, upping the stakes with an uncompromising and irresistible increase in pace and incoherence before the sudden end is matched step for step with partial relief. Somewhere beforehand you remember concern for your cardiovascular wellbeing, and reassert your biorhythms to a steadier pace.

The vinyl scratch of ‘Low Mode’ echoes underground acid rock and throws yet another compulsive tune alongside a vocal rallying call to increase the seductive heat/volume as the two reach house territory in a warped dial frenzy of noise.

“Mash It Up I Don’t Care What It Takes!!” is the pinnacle mantra as ‘Everybody’ spins wildly out of control off the back of a deep, deceptively steady subliminal beat. JUST before the devastating sound of old skool hardcore brings the whole thing crashing down around our ears, leaving obvious manic grins as the only apparent thing holding us together whilst our heads process the lot into a constant flow of pure joy. The more mental it sounds, the better it gets, until it becomes impossible to resist. Total chemistry.

‘Bring It On’ is about love, and life and is utterly dedicated to the party spirit as defined by the warehouse. Euphoric to a fault, this mantra-laden whirlwind of pop devotion stirs up one hell of a hardcore revival, reminding us just how short the memory can be when it comes to remembering the days and nights of our lives. An absolutely storming record.
