Fresh from their highly successful Twisted Folk tour (which helped launch King Creosote and Jose Gonzales in 2005), eccentric folktronic collective TUNNG return with the third single from their enigmatic ‘Comments Of The Inner Chorus’ album and the follow-up to the well-received ‘Jenny Again’.
And, while the curiously-titled ‘It’s Because…We’ve Got Hair’ isn’t quite in the same league as its’ predecessor, it’s still another off-kilter beauty of sorts, dappled with drowsy, spiritual harmonies, folk-flecked guitars and what I assume are speckles of low-key electronica. Though you’re never entirely sure with Tunng at the best of times.

Also included is a Department of Eagles remix which turns up the ‘tronica’ aspect of Tunng’s ‘folktronica’ sound and wigs out further still. It’s okay, but of curiosity value more then anything else, but it still doesn’t do anything to hurt Tunng’s weird, diverse but thoroughly engaging approach to mashing genres. Thank God there’s still room for the oddballs, eh?
