Review: 'CLINIC'
'If You Could Read Your Mind (single)'

-  Label: 'Domino Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '5th February 2007'-  Catalogue No: 'RUG 245'

Our Rating:
Clinic have always relished the darker alleyways of underground rock seemingly unphased by the lack of commercial breakthrough.

There’s certainly no trace of compromise here on this fine single, the second to be lifted from their 4th album 'Visitations'.

It’s is a spooky three minute blast of scouser psychedelia with a deliberately retro feel revisiting the tripped out atmospherics of US garage bands like The Seeds, ? And The Mysterons and Electric Prunes.

The slurred vocals , spaced out keyboard effects and sludgy mix make for a kind of misanthropic party music.

My promo copy had only the title track but the Cd single includes two other tunes 'Dissolution :The Dream Of Bartholomew' and Saxon Road together with a surreal video of the title song.

Seriously cool.
