Review: 'EMANUEL'
'Cottonmouth'

-  Label: 'Vagrant'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '10th Sept 2007'-  Catalogue No: 'VRUK056CD'

Our Rating:

From the album ‘Black Earth Tiger’, EMANUEL release ‘Cottonmouth’.

Screaming post hardcore with anthemic pretensions – this kind of music frankly scares the hell out of me. No melody, screaming vocals from unbroken voices, and piles of faux-angst from youngsters that head straight to black before they’ve discovered the joys of life.

Is it original? Is it fuck.

Worse, this apes the cack that inspires it without ever looking to see deeper or beyond. No innovation whatsoever, and despite the full-on assault tactics, there’s no weight either to this soulless and superficial noise by numbers.

You don’t need to be a blind man to see straight through this.
