Here at W&H we've taken a while to feel at home with THE SUGARS. Silly really. The home is the last place you’d want to meet this retro-chic trio. Night life, out on the town, cool-looking and now - very cool sounding - THE SUGARS have hit their stride and don’t look like staying in for a second longer than they need to quiff hair and slip into stilettos.
"Way To My Heart" has Jodie Wyatt's hurrying high hat and Matt Bolton crying the blues through a nimbly constructed tune till Anna Greenaway offers the vocal love and there's a blast of over-excited guitar to celebrate and conclude the conquest. "End Of Our Love Affair" is more suavely-styled, cooler and more late-night.
Both tunes are simply presented, 100% pleasure, guaranteed nostalgia for doo wap times that are emotionally part of all our lives, even though we never lived through them. Blame the movies. Check the single.
