When they first came out, UNKLE could not have been more ahead of their time – certainly forefathers to many future dance-indie cross-overs. Critics fell over themselves to praise Psyence Fiction, and to this day they remain respected as an act based on their history. But things have been less than great post- DJ Shadow, yet still quite good, if that makes sense.
This is essentially Kasabian meets The Stone Roses, with a nice war-time Klaxon in the background. It's not trailblazing in any which way, but it is still a catchy song that is done well. It's better than many other things that sound like Kasabian meets The Stone Roses, but there was a time when that simply wouldn't have been enough. Had they not raised the bar in the beginning, this would have been more than just an OK song.
