Review: 'PIGEON DETECTIVES, THE'
'I FOUND OUT'

-  Label: 'DANCE TO THE RADIO'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'November 2007'-  Catalogue No: 'DTTR040CD'

Our Rating:
If THE PIGEON DETECTIVES' previous singles had anything going for them (and that itself is questionable), it was that they were a little bit catchy. Yeah, they were uninspired plain old indie songs with over-used lyrics, but they were slightly memorable.

'I Found Out' appears to end this run, as it's some sort of standard indie number, but this time with added Clash rip-off chanting. They have a formula and it hasn't managed to endure even an album's worth of releases. There will always be bands like this, as they appeal to people who don't like to look far for their music.

This world does not need The Pigeon Detectives, especially when they seem even less interesting than they originally weren't. The Pigeon Detectives are probably this years Kooks, and that is one of the worst things I can think to say about any band. Apart from Jo Whiley will probably love it. And that is true as well.
