O’Connor is a singer from Ireland and Distance is his debut album.
What is on offer here is highly-polished pop that sounds like any number of boy-bands and singers in the popular music chart. Like so many of these artists, the guy can sing, but there’s just no soul, passion or invention in it. I’ve heard it before and it had no merit then.
That said, such is the nature of the public at large, one appearance on GMTV or This Morning or some such and it will probably sell by the thousand to those who like their pop music bland, unimaginative but highly polished.
