‘Sunset Blvd.’ is the creation of Goteborg’s PACIFIC duo Danny Hogberg and Bjorn Synneby. Whilst the original dances along a cheese-defying tightrope walk, the subsequent reworkings prove that it’s a track ripe for remix.
With the gorgeous E-head lyrics foregrounded in the sparse chiming bounce of FrYars’ remix, the beauty and the drama are heightened damn near to perfection.
The Popular Computer version is more house-y and percussive, but gorgeously understated and wonderfully absorbing, whilst the Triangle reworking is devoted to Jurassic techno shifts and the edges of the ambient universe. Superb.
