A limited free download offer by this Sunderland based Electronica artist, Ian Todd, is not quite the giveaway it first appears to be. What it amounts to is a brief sonic plug for his forthcoming album, his fifth in total and the first since 2008's Nightend.
What you get is three tracks (Panic ; Sick Sick and Loss ) with a total playing time of just five and half minutes.
Given that the thrifty content is uncompromising , futuristic noise, even this short dose will probably be more than enough for many listeners .
The mini tracks have a cold. abstract feel that conjures up a bleak Bladerunner setting.
It made me intrigued to hear more, which I guess is the real point of the 'freebie'.
