The ferocious hardcore of this Welsh hardcore quartet is not for the faint hearted.
This is their third ep - first released in November 2009 - sold out and now lovingly re-issued with vinyl effect CD , screenprinted artwork and gatefold sleeve.
Seven brutal songs in sixteen minutes with Matriarch at 3 minutes being a positive epic.
Titles like Her Casket Holds No Bones and Heir Of The Dog (an instrumental) give fair warning that the Bastions' kingdom is a realm full of rabid beasts rather than cute puppies.
The best track is Misery King which climaxes with blood curdling screams of "slay her once - slay her again - like the ink in my heart - like the blood in this pen".
This not a love song.
It is raw , slightly terrifying and guaranteed to annoy the neighbours.
All postives in my book!
