Review: 'VOLITAINS, THE'
'Underground (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Punk/New Wave' -  Release Date: '27th June 2010'

Our Rating:
Fed up of the 80s synth-pop revival and bands who sound like Ultravox after Midge Ure joined? Sick of limp-wristed indie and slick lamecore rap and R'n'B? Had a gutful of anthemic rock? want something that packs and punch and grabs you by the throat? If ever there was a time we needed a band like this, it's now.

No messing about here, The Volitains crash straight in with a big, dirty balls-out guitar and thumping percussion. It's spiky, punky and so full of attitude it positively stings. Like a garage Siouxsie and the Banshees, it's primal, raw and edgy and exciting, with a really attenion-grabbing female vocal.

Ok, so it's also super-retro, but it's coming from an entirely different place and most importantly, really blows the cobwebs away.
