Review: 'Morcheeba'
'Blood Like Lemonade'

-  Label: 'PIAS'
-  Genre: 'Trip-Hop' -  Release Date: '11th October 2010'-  Catalogue No: 'PIASR 213'

Our Rating:
I have to admit that I haven't given much thought to Morcheeba recently, and in all honesty I had absolutely no idea that they were still going. 'Trigger Hippie' was a long time ago, and while they've accumulated a substantial discography and collection of former personnel over the last fifteen years, their profile hasn't exactly been prominent during this time. Still, they must be doing something right in order to sustain themselves and to continue releasing albums, even if their last single to chart in the UK (and many haven't) was in 2008 and peaked at number 182.

'Blood Like Lemonade' sees the return of original vocalist Skye Edwards, and essentially sounds very like the older material. The trouble is, it's all been done before, and this is rather subdued and insipid. As lemonade goes, this is decidedly flat.
