St Albans band The Vertigos describe themselves as an 'alternative electro-indie band' with songs that are 'guitar-driven but injected with dance undertones.' They cite The Libertines, Bloc Party, Friendly Fires and The Cribs amongst their influences. Think you've heard it all before? You'd be right: 'Rubix' reveals The Vertigos as a band that's very much the sum of its sources, and as such, my job's already done for me.
B-side 'Saint' adds a dash of The Cure to the fairly predictable cocktail. Definitely and desperately inessential.
