The Mancunian cabaretcore act who caught my ear last year with their debut album – which was ace – return with a new single.
It's as quirky and idiosyncratic as you'd expect from a band who've recorded a series of live videos under the title 'The Bathroom Sessions' (yes, they actually perform the songs in bathrooms). It's also rather good. Picking up where the album, 'Tales of...' left off, 'Where Did I Sleep' is a swingin' jazz number that's hard to classify but boasts a boppin' chorus, a magnificent strolling double-bass line and a suitable dose of Johnny 5thWheel's trademark dry wit.
