Of all the CDs in my review pile this was the one I dreaded listening to a second time. I hated it the first time I heard it and have given it nearly two weeks before it's crept back onto my CD player for another go. This time round it doesn't sound quite as bad as before but its still an underachiever.
The press release boasts that all of the song titles and the album title have been crowd sourced and listening to it most of the music probably has as well. I get the feeling they are using the same mash-up software as The Vile Imbeciles who are the only other band I know making musical messes quite like this.
It starts off with some dubby electronica called futuredeadrockstars to lull you into a false sense of security before things go wrong over a techno dance nightmare beat on T.M.W.S.W.T.G.W. It then goes almost normal on a sort of tech folk number that is actually called The Inherent Racism of Doves. I kid you not! When Jo heard Campervan Sex she said she thought it sounded like something you'd play for a Zumba class rather than the sleazy sex it's title suggests.
But then there is a break out of chill out room breakbeat nonsense that I just don't get. I guess you need to be on Miaow Miaow or something for it to work properly. Or it is the Sanity Check of it's name? The ravey ocean sounds that follow are better if incongruous on this album.

Empties (featuring chris T-T on vocals) is the best thing on here. It's about working in a bar collecting the empties and the ennui that brings. It's also the most normal sounding thing on here. Its followed by a bunch of Techno bollox that might sound good in a club but should never be heard anywhere else. It's the stuff of Throwing Nightmares for sure.
By the time I get to Send Out The Search party I assume they mean to search for something decent to listen to as it's not on this album. I guess I may just be the wrong generation for music like this.
