Our Rating:
Post-dubstep is apparently Crewdson’s thing, and as the title suggests, this EP features remixes of tracks from his album ‘Gravity’, with a new track thrown in for good measure. ‘Bent Measure’ is that new track, and it’s a curious hybrid of laid-back bloopy electro with a glitchy trip-hop vibe infused with a twist of jazz. Chilled, slightly soulful vocals lounge around in a bath of doodly bleeps and squiggles. It doesn’t really go anywhere, but then it doesn’t really need to.

Bold bursts of brass compete with hectic drum ‘n’ bass beats on the Snorkel remix of ‘Cascade’, and things get really weird on the Hello Skinny remix of ‘Electric Wing’, with pitch-shifted and slowed and warped vocals harmonising with one another over a spaced-out electro backdrop.

There’s a ‘world’ slant to the woozy disco of Bambooman’s remix of ‘Trapdoor’, and the wooziness is cranked up several notches on the Real Remix of ‘Electric Wing’, with tempos and time signatures criss-crossing over one another hither and thither . It’s enough to induce room-spin without being drunk, and is definitely one to avoid when under the influence of any substances.
