Our Rating:
Where Ottersgear Lies by Ottersgear

This single for me should have been the other way round as lead track Where Ottersgear Lie is by far the weaker of the two tunes, it is all fey folk meanderings with some rather soft Davendra Banhart type vocals and the song doesn't really go anywhere and sort of left me a bit blank. the b-side Down In The Faery Glen however is much more of a country and Western Hoe down that could amost be a line dancing tune and has a good drunken sing along chorus that could almost be a long lost Pogues tune.

Oh and in case anyone was wondering they take the band name from the area in Lanacashire that they are from and from Ottersgear Bridge on Clougha Pike in the trough of Bowland which sounds like it is pretty remote and in need of a good hoe down that the second song provides.
