Review: 'Halasan Bazar'
'Space Junk'

-  Album: 'Space Junk' -  Label: 'Crash Symbols'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '2nd April 2013'

Our Rating:
Halasan Bazar hail from Copenhagan, and are pitched as ‘an experimental psych-pop band’, and on ‘Space Junk’ they crank out a groovy psych rock sound with a garagey edge. Sure, it’s been done before, but who cares?

Waves of treble crash all about while persistent percussion propels a swirling swell of chiming, toppy guitar on the garage psych of ‘You and I’. ‘Live Without Love’ stomps and bounces along nicely, and Fredrik Eckhoff howls with a plaintive joy on mellow ‘The Light of My Day’.

Amidst the top-end and reverb there are some sweetly jangling guitar lines and vocal harmonies that shimmer as they catch the summery breeze that radiates from the joyful, warm songs, making ‘Space Junk’ spacey, but definitely not junk.
